Wrap-up: October 2024

5 of the best from October

Consider this wrap-up a love letter to our favourite wedding month, October. Our team also has a whole lot of love for the incredible couples mentioned on these pages (they really were some of the most phenomenal humans we’ve come across!). Such a memorable few weeks!

Jade and everyone here at JMFS x

ONE – Chloe and her girls were the epitome of spring joy, proving there’s no such thing as ‘too much colour’ when it comes to wedding flowers. The simple-but-staggering-beautiful coral anemones, lilac scabiosas, dainty baby blue delphiniums, mini pink carnations, bright yellow ranunculus and equally vibrant alstroemerias were high contrast and maximum impact – more is sometimes definitely more! We’re here for it all and cannot wait to see more photos from this epic day at Peppers Creek. Congratulations to the bride and her beau, Jamie! You are both sunshine in human form.

TWO – Just when you thought we’d exhausted every colour of the rainbow… hello magenta! Lovebirds Brydie and Tristan also said ‘I do’ at Peppers Creek, adding pops of this brilliant violet-red throughout the venue’s rustic Barrel Room. How intimate and effortlessly romantic is this setup in the sandstone fireplace?! Strawberries and cream roses with muted native greenery, a handful of the most vividly hued peonies, and enough hanging tealights and glass hurricane candles to light up the entire Hunter Valley night sky. *Chef’s kiss*

THREE – There may be a bit of a theme emerging here but we’re just going to say it – October is THE month for having fun with brighter shades. Everything in the middle of spring practically sparkles, looking and feeling more alive and reinvigorated than ever. Poppies? Out to play, finally! Ranunculus? Never been so fluffy and full headed! Daffodils? Fields of them. Can’t get enough! Tulips are also hitting their stride right now, and bride Brianna’s bouquet was testament to this. These burgundy beauties, along with peachy red roses en masse, were a love letter to boldness and texture. This striking combo is one the team at JMFS won’t be forgetting anytime soon, either! A neutral wedding palette is timeless and beautiful in its own right, but it’s thrilling to see that colours are making a comeback in 2024.

FOUR – Never have we ever… felt ‘meh’ about receiving lovely feedback from our couples. After riding the huge high that is your wedding day, we know that hopping on emails isn’t really a priority (nor should it be!), so the JMFS team is always so grateful for any time taken to reach out with kind and affirming words. This one from Sarah made our entire week!

‘I just wanted to say a huge thank you for Saturday. The flowers were absolutely beautiful and exceeded all expectations. We received many compliments from guests!’

FIVE – We have died and gone to tree peony heaven. Just look at those stunners! Emily and Tyler’s moody wedding setup was the perfect marriage of the classic and the fashion-forward, with rich burgundy florals adding contrast and drama to an otherwise neutral colour palette. Cream rippled vases, stone taper candles, ceramic tealight holders, and white marble candlesticks from our JMFS Hire Inventory complemented this aesthetic so beautifully. Keep an eye on our socials for more! This wedding is likely to feature quite heavily in the coming weeks…
