Wrap-up: November 2024

5 of the best from November

What a memorable spring! Fresh and vibrant peonies may be harder to find, but there are so many things to look forward to during the warmest months in this little pocket of the world – balmy nights, sweetly perfumed flowers, ocean dips, and precious downtime with family and friends. Bring. It. On.

ONE – Emma and Michael’s country chic wedding at Adams Peak was just heavenly! The couple really let nature – and the venue’s charming bare timber features – do most of the talking, opting for an airy white and pastel blue colour palette with equally pared-back styling. Sometimes, less truly is more! Bud vases with single stems of roses, hydrangeas, and delphiniums dotted along the barnyard reception tables were also befitting of this cottagecore aesthetic, as was the custom deckled-edge stationery handmade by JMFS graphic designer, Ash. The rolling hills of Broke are an undeniably stunning backdrop in their own right, but these elegant touches took the phrase ‘bucolic beauty’ to a whole other level.

TWO – Sage green has us all in a chokehold. Just look at this dreamy setup for Kate and Brock! Hints of blush pink and sandy beige complemented this gentle and effortlessly romantic vibe beautifully at Peppers Creek, as did the floaty fabric bows and groupings of ivory hurricane candles throughout the rustic barrel room. Mood lighting (and lots of it!) is never a bad idea! Congratulations to the loveliest duo.

THREE – It’s raining wedding galleries here at JMFS! These are, without question, our FAVOURITE emails to receive from past couples. The closeup insta shot of the ring, the bridal bouquet, the perfume, and the quintessential white Jimmy Choos? The candid snaps of cheeky, beaming flower girls as they toss petals haphazardly down the aisle? The elation of the newlyweds immediately post ‘I dos’ and their intimate looks of love on the dancefloor? We fawn over it all, and we genuinely share in your joy too. Ali and Alice’s photos are no exception! Have you ever seen a more natural and in-sync pair?

FOUR –Our other favourite emails to receive? Feedback, especially when it’s overwhelmingly positive! We are always so grateful for any time taken to reach out with kind and affirming words after your wedding. This one from gorgeous Zita was very uplifting – the perfect way to round out the spring season!

‘We couldn’t have been happier with the flowers and styling from JMFS for our wedding at Peppers Creek.

My bouquet was beyond perfect and exactly what I had envisioned, with Australian native flowers incorporated in such a beautiful and creative way. The team’s communication throughout was also top-notch, particularly the quick replies to emails. The Zoom and phone calls were incredibly helpful in bringing my vision to life as well.

The whole experience was seamless and stress-free, and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for exceptional styling and florals for their special day!’

FIVE – Q&A with the JMFS team: Spring edition. Get to know us!

What are you most looking forward to this summer?

Jade: Coastal walks, lots of sunshine, and the smell of gardenias.

Claudie: The opposite, haha! I’m all about enjoying the holidays in air-conditioned comfort.

Claire: Adding to my garden. Dahlias are at their beautiful best in Dec/Jan.

Favourite way to decorate the Christmas table?

Jade: Sandstone taper candles and oversized champagne muslin runners – simple and timeless. Lots of Christmas bush too, of course!

Jen: Ditto.

Georgia: Greens, reds, and golds.

Do you make New Year’s resolutions?

Jade: Yes and no. I prefer the term ‘Year in review’ and I like to set some positive intentions for the year ahead. For me, 2025 will be about finding balance. It’s exciting to know that I’ll be setting up a new home with my partner and hopefully starting to grow some beautiful flowers to use in our JMFS weddings too!

Claudie: I feel similarly. I’m acutely aware of life’s curveballs but I also like to have a few concrete goals to work towards consistently throughout the year. This weekend I’ll actually be working on my 2025 Mood Board and am not-so-secretly hoping that a big picture of Lake Como will give my partner the nudge to finally book our Italy trip!
