Over the years, we’ve been very lucky to work with some of the loveliest and most enthusiastic wedding industry experts and in many, many beautiful spaces. As the recent-ish new owners of Peppers Creek Barrel Room & Chapel, however, we may have become a tad biased (though only just a tad!). Our venue is timeless and a one-stop shop for ceremonies, receptions, accommodation and in-house catering. It’s also deep in the heart of the Hunter Valley’s world-renowned wine region, and we think it’s a pretty special place to get married.
The chapel is particularly stunning. It’s made of the original sandstone blocks from the old Grace Bros store in historic Broadway, Sydney, and surrounded by rolling hills, dense bushland and sprawling, sun-soaked acreage. It’s rustic and opulent and the perfect backdrop for any celebration!
Our Tuscan-style barrel room is just a little stroll down from the chapel and features 20-ft high gabled ceilings and the largest fireplace in the Hunter Valley. It’s an immaculate and thoughtfully-designed reception space, fitted with timber beams, draped outdoor festoon lighting, gilded mirrors, and old-world candelabras.
The menu options are considered too – we offer casual and relaxed cocktail-style dining (250 max capacity), an alternate serve sit-down dinner for the traditionalists (140-180 max capacity), and ‘feasting with friends’ aka the ideal middle ground (140-180 max capacity). Everyone’s favourite culinary item? Chef Lee’s melt-in-your-mouth chocolate tart.
- Our Hunter-based wine list is curated by sommeliers, Stay and Sip (they’re honestly EXPERTS)
- Why not add on post-ceremony grazing tables, a gelato cart, canapes, champagne tower and/or sparkling bar?
- We can organise fun night-before gatherings for family and friends within walking distance, either at Harrigan’s or Spicers Guesthouse, as well as post-wedding brunches at Enzo Cafe, which is just across from the Barrel Room!
- We also offer Tasting Nights so you can sample some of the menu before your wedding day. These are held quarterly.
